Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a type of manual therapy that diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions. It emphasises the restoration of the body’s natural structure and function by encouraging its innate ability to heal itself. The osteopath uses various techniques on muscles, joints and viscera to help relieve tensions, improve mobility, enhance blood circulation and promote health.

An osteopath seeks to identify the cause of the presenting problem in order to alleviate symptoms. S/he highly believes in the importance of re-establishing balance within the whole body to maintain homeostasis.

Some of the conditions we can help you with:

  • Back pain
  • Arthritic pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Postural problems
  • Headache
  • Muscle tension
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Digestive problems
  • Inability to relax

What to expect from your first appointment:

During your first consultation, our osteopath will conduct a full case history to understand you, your presenting problems and current health situation. She will then examine your posture, ask you to perform some active movements, assess your passive ranges of motion and, if applicable, perform some other tests. After the physical examination, you will be given a full explanation of the findings and will be briefed on the type of treatment most suitable for your symptoms.

The first consultation lasts 1 hour and follow-up sessions are 45 minutes in duration.

NB: Kindly be advised that for Osteopathy sessions with Ms Eleonora Sansoni, we ask our male clients to come wearing boxer briefs and our female clients to come wearing a hook-up bra (as opposed to a sports bra), as this facilitates the administration of the treatment for the practitioner and allows you to get the most benefits out of the session.
